Metric onboarding collects profile and goal context and asks for permission to access supported Apple Health data. The exact experience can change by app version, device, and the permissions you choose. There is no guaranteed completion time or promise that setup alone produces a personalized health plan.
What setup can include
- Basic details such as birthday, height, and weight when relevant to selected features.
- Wellness or fitness goals used to tailor parts of the experience.
- Apple Health read or write requests for supported data categories.
- An initial sync whose coverage depends on available history and permissions.
Apple Health access stays permission-based
You decide which requested categories to allow. You can review or change Health access later in Apple’s settings. Declining access may reduce what Metric can display or calculate.
After setup, inspect profile details, units, connected sources, and data coverage before interpreting a score. Personalization is only as sound as the information supplied and should remain editable as your goals change.
Wellness and editorial boundary
Metric is a wellness product. Its scores, AI responses, nutrition analyses, and wearable-derived values are informational estimates, not diagnoses or medical advice. Results depend on the data available and may be incomplete or inaccurate. Review source data and speak with a qualified professional about health concerns.
